The Canteen

Black Hill Primary School has a fantastic canteen run by the parents of the school and trainee TAFE students from the University of Ballarat - SMB campus and BEST. The canteen is open three days a week and we have a fully approved Food Safety Program in place.
The Canteen follows DEECD guidelines on healthy foods and food allergies.
The Canteen is jointly coordinated by volunteer parents and TAFE and BEST lecturers. Volunteers are placed on a roster organized by the volunteer Canteen Manager and all ordering is carried out by TAFE. Assistance is always needed so if you can help please contact the school office. This is a pleasant and rewarding avenue for parents to participate in the school’s day to day activities.
The canteen is open at the following times (unless otherwise advertised in the newsletter):
Day
---
Wednesday (BEST)
Thursday (TAFE)
Friday (parents)
Ordering
To order lunch students need to write their name, class and order onto a brown paper bag (available at school). Please make sure all money is placed in the bag and carefully and it is folded to ensure the money does not fall out. Orders must be placed in the class lunch tub at 9:00am each canteen day. As credit cannot be provided, children will be provided with a sandwich if lunch has been forgotten or money not included. Parents and caregivers are asked to please send the money to school on the next day.
